Safety
All activities performed by the companies in the Rover Alcisa Group are carried out under the strict requirements of a Prevention Management System, based upon the OHSAS 18001 standard and certified by AENOR.

The Group's Management Board assumes the commitment to introduce an efficient prevention culture as a fundamental principle in the strategy of all companies that compose the Group. For this reason, we continuously promote particular lines of work, whose aim is to extend, integrate, homogenize and get to a satisfactory end prevention policies and safety management systems, which impose our staff and collaborators to actively participate in the ongoing improvement process.

Our internal level of demand in safety, strongly overcomes the formal and strict accomplishment of the legislation in force.

The Prevention of Occupational Hazards management system is applied to all activities in our companies, and includes agile mechanisms of direct supervision and surveillance. In each workplace, we assign at least one on-site Safety Management Manager, who is supported by prevention central services. As an example of our deep interest on safety, we would like to emphasize that all engineers in our prevention central service made 400 visits and on-site internal safety audits last year, with their corresponding improvement reports. This effort was superimposed to the daily dedication of all on-site safety supervisors.

The Rover Alcisa Group prioritizes the constant updating of staff capacities. For this reason, it has been one of the first construction companies in Spain to obtain the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción (Construction Labour Foundation) homologation, in order to provide prevention training, which is legally demanded by this industry's Collective Agreement. Last year, more than 15,500 safety training hours were provided to a total of 642 students.

As a result of this great effort, the number of accidents, measured by the accident rate, has decreased 58% from 2002, and it's also much lower than the construction industry rate.
