With this work, the Rover Alcisa Group through his company Iberovías fixes the expanding of the territorial coverage of the commuter service from the optimization of the existing rail network and increasing the supply of rail transport. The Commuter Plan contemplates the creation of a new line connecting the Island of Cartuja with Santa Justa including the construction of new stations and improvements in urban infrastructure in the urban ring. Along with Iberovías participating in a joint venture for the execution of the contract we have Elecnor and Sando Companies.
The scope of works includes the external branch of the Madrid-Seville, Huelva branch, the junction of los Naranjos, Seville-Huelva line and branch of La Cartuja, including current Olympic Stadium halts and La Cartuja, running in the province of Seville of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia.
The main purpose of the work is to get a new commuter line between the output of Santa Justa to the station of La Cartuja, which will have a trivialized way down the line and three new stations or halts.
Most important actions
The project included three major areas of relevance. The first is the construction of the new halt in St. Jerónimo that will have a central platform, passenger building and pedestrian bridge of communication between them, saving Super-North Round and the Tamarguillo Stream, as well as a parking enforcement.
The second and third involve the adequacy of the current halt of Olympic Stadium, with a new passenger building and two platforms, and also the adequacy of the current station of La Cartuja, with a new passenger building and three platforms. The canopy of textile cover type will be rehabilitated in the platform area. Besides the works also include the construction of a new platform on track to double area (1.3 km) and consolidation of existing landfills in the rest of the section. In addition, also carried out the construction of a new overpass PK 0+410 of the Sevilla-Huelva line and a viaduct on the way to double, on its way over the Guadalquivir River.
Interventions on track
In this area there are three individual actions to highlight such as the doubling of track on the stretch between the bifurcation of Los Naranjos and the one in San Jeronimo (1.3 km long), connecting St. Jeronimo fork with the parallel section of track of the Sevilla-Huelva line that remains in gauge, and gauge change in the last one to fit the conventional gauge (5.3 km) and the assembly of 5 exits and 8 turnouts. As for electricity, we can highlight the placement of compensated catenary of type CA-160 in the double track and double gates at stations. Adaptation will also run on the remote control of switches to the new schedule set, the replacement of affected services, the actions of environmental integration and the provision of urban enclosure. Safety installations and facilities for communications on track will be integrated into a separate project. |
